Plants in Shonan iPark Forest and Waka poem, Chestnut
Shonan iPark forest is large and great place to take a stroll and refresh yourself in your work. The first mini-corner introducing plants found in such a forest and waka poems is "Chestnut". I was surprised to find a tree that bears such magnificent fruits. The waka poem associated with chestnuts was composed by the monk Ryokan (1758~1831) when his guest was about to leave the hermitage of the monk Ryokan.
“Waiting for the moonlight to shine, let's go home, because the mountain roads are full of chestnut balls.”
It's not so bad that you have to watch your step, but why don't you take a walk in Shonan iPark Forest and feel the deepening autumn? By the way, they were delicious chestnuts.
湘南アイパークの森の植物と和歌、栗
湘南アイパークの森は広く、研究の合間に散策して気分転換するには最高の場所です。せっかくの素晴らしい森ですから、少しでも皆さんに興味を持っていただければと思い、この森に見られる植物について関連する和歌とともに紹介していきたいと思います。ミニコーナーの第1回目は「栗」。こんなにも立派な実をつける木があるのは驚きです。そして栗にちなんだ和歌は、良寛和尚（1758年～1831年）の庵を訪ねた客人が帰ろうとした際に和尚が詠んだ歌です。
「月よみの光を待ちて帰りませ 山路は栗の毬の多きに」
足元を気を付けなければならないほどにはありませんが、湘南アイパークの森を散策して深まる秋を感じてみてはいかがでしょうか。ちなみに美味しい栗でした。
