湘南アイパークサイエンスカフェとは

ライフサイエンスの進捗はまさに日進月歩で、月に１０００報もの最新論文が主要科学雑誌から発表され、新らたな疾患発症メカニズムやそれらに基づく治療法が提唱・検証されつづけています。湘南アイパークに集うテナント各社は、こうした最新サイエンスの動向に敏感に対応し、タイムリーに創薬や治療イノベーションに応用することが求められていることは言うまでもありません。一方、創薬に関するライフサイエンスの分野は、薬理学、生化学、分子生物学、遺伝学に加え、近年目覚ましい発展を遂げている幹細胞生物学、バイオインフォマティクス、さらには新しいインターベンションとして注目されている核酸医薬や遺伝子治療、細胞治療と非常に複雑多岐を極めています。すなわち、ライフサイエンスの進歩の全体像を把握することは、多忙な研究者個人ではなかなか至難の業であるという状況なのです。こうした背景から、湘南アイパークサイエンスカフェ（iPark Science Café）を、湘南アイパークに入居するテナント各社の有志メンバーと共に立ち上げることにいたしました。 　従来型のサイエンスカフェは、演者の先生による講演会形式のものが一般的なようですが、iPark Science Caféは、それらとは一線を画します。有志メンバーがそれぞれの高度な専門性を生かし、かわるがわるに最新サイエンスに関するプレゼンテーションを実施して参ります。このためにiPark Science Caféは、従来の聴講型の体験を超え、テナント各社の垣根を超えた参画型の体験となり、各々のサイエンスの成長にとどまらず、サイエンスコミュニティーの醸成とネットワーキングの機会を提供するものと期待しております。iPark Science Caféは、一見、単なる文献抄読会に過ぎないと思われがちですが、私共にとっては無限の可能性を秘めた機会に違いないと信じ、テナント各社に所属する研究者のサイエンスの成長にとどまらず、iParkの発展や社会貢献をも視野に入れながら、ボランティア活動の場としていきたいと考えています。 みなさまのご参加とご支援を賜りますよう、心よりお願い申し上げます。

What is shonan iPark Science Cafe?

Life Science is steadily progressing, and 1000 latest papers are published from major scientific journals a month, and new disease onset mechanisms and treatments based on them are being proposed and verified. Needless to say, the tenant companies gathering at Shonan iPark are required to respond sensitively to these latest science trends and apply them to drug discovery and therapeutic innovations in a timely manner. On the other hand, the field of life science related to drug discovery is extremely complex and diverse which is attracting attention as pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, stem cell biology, bioinformatics, and new interventions including nucleic acid medicine, gene therapy, and cell therapy that have been making remarkable progress in recent years. In other words, grasping the overall picture of life science progress is a difficult task for busy researchers. Against this background, we decided to launch Shonan iPark Science Cafe (iPark Science Cafe) together with volunteer members of tenant companies who are residing in Shonan iPark. Traditional Science Cafés are typically lectured by teachers, but iPark Science Café stands out. Volunteer members will make use of their advanced expertise to give presentations on the latest science. To this end, iPark Science Café goes beyond the traditional auditory experience and becomes a participatory experience that would go beyond the boundaries of each tenant, providing opportunities for fostering the science community and networking, not just the growth of each science. At first glance, iPark Science Café seems to be just a bibliography, but we believe that it must be an infinite opportunity, and the science growth of researchers belonging to tenant companies. In addition, I would like to be a place for volunteer activities with a view to creating future iPark and contributing to society.
