【Summary】
In the next Science Café, I will give a topic on membrane permeability of cyclic peptides.
Cyclic peptides are attracting much attention because they can bind to a wide range of target molecules and thus inhibit protein-protein interactions (PPIs) that cannot be targeted by small molecules.
However, many cyclic peptides have low cell membrane permeability, which limits their ability to target intracellular targets.
In this article, I would like to introduce a paper that focuses on the hydrophobic surface area as a factor that determines the membrane permeability of cyclic peptides.
