これは既存MEA(~64電極)では検出できない。
“Progress of CMOS-based high density MEA and multi-electrode BMI, and their application”
Recently, researchers have interested in CMOS-based high density MEA equipped with over 20,000-electrodes and dramatically improved spatial resolution. In Alzheimer's disease-model neural culture, analysis using CMOS-MEA revealed that Aβ-induced toxicity affects to the fast-firing minority population, which cannot be detected by conventional MEA (~64-electrodes). On the other hand, Eron Mask / Neuralink unveiled an integrated BMI platform with thousands of channels on July 16th. Neuralink plans first-in human clinical study in 2020 showing that quadriplegia patient can freely operate the iPhone using this device. Technological breakthroughs in high density neural recording could bring a significant advance in neuroscience.
