“SARS-CoV-Encoded Small RNAs Contribute to Infection-Associated Lung Pathology”
Major scientific journals such as Cell, Nature Science, and others have well-developed websites containing information on papers related to new coronaviruses.
In this article, I would like to introduce the past literature listed on the Cell Press website "Cell Press Coronavirus Resource Hub".https://www.cell.com/2019-nCOV
Summary :
SARS-CoV causes an aggravated inflammatory response, widespread pulmonary pathology, and lethal disease in humans. Morales et al. identified a small viral RNA (svRNA) encoded by SARS-CoV that is expressed during pulmonary infection. The viral N gene-derived svRNA (svRNA-N) contributes to increased inflammatory pathology in the lung. Antisense svRNA-N inhibitors significantly inhibited pulmonary inflammation during in vivo infection in mice.
